I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy Associate and received my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. My undergraduate degree is in Rehabilitation Services at Penn State University. I have worked for over 11 years in various therapeutic settings, and have training in families, crisis, trauma, and substance abuse. I am on track to become a certified play therapist however, I am not quite finished with it yet. I specialize in anxiety, depression, marital conflicts, family stabilization, interpersonal relationships, grief and substance abuse. I use mostly a narrative or structural approach to my work, but may have individuals and families utilizing existential techniques to work towards their goals. In my personalized approach with each client, I have a passion in empowering individuals and families to discover how to be the hero of their own story.
I was born and raised in Pennsylvania and am a true Philadelphia Eagles fan! I know what it takes to step out of your comfort zone and take a risk. I moved from Pennsylvania to Charlotte to start a career, and ended up meeting my husband and raising a family. When I was younger, I always knew that I wanted to help people. When asked what I wanted to be, I would tell everyone that I wanted to be a healer. I will be working towards being professionally trained in emotionally focused couples therapy, substance abuse, EMDR, and trauma focused. I love working with families and couples, and am empowered through the resiliency of everyone I work with. When I am not working, I really enjoy physical activities and self-care. My life mantra is that we do not do life alone, and that has allowed my passion for family and tradition to be seen in my work.
