Brooke Waggoner
Intern of Administration and Consultation

I am currently receiving my undergraduate in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I am a Senior and will be graduating in May! I aspire to be a Clinical Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with children. I plan to obtain my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. At UNCW, I am involved in organizations that raise awareness for mental health. One of these organizations is NAMI- National Alliance on Mental Illness. The other organization that I am a member of is Psi Chi. Through both organizations, we fundraise, volunteer, network, and advocate for mental health awareness. I am currently working in a research lab where I examine resilience following childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences. I have made the Dean’s list consistently throughout my undergraduate career and enjoy the psychology classes I have taken. These courses include Abnormal Psychology, Child Psychology, Developmental Psychopathology, and Child Abuse and Neglect
Brooke will be assisting with administrative duties and working with clinicians to develop programs that include our Teen group and Play Therapy Education for preschools.
