I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Play Therapist, and trained crisis and trauma therapist. I graduated from UNCC with CHI SIGMA IOTA Honors in Clinical Mental Health Counseling after obtaining my undergraduate degree in Psychology a minor in English Literature and countless hours in Early Childhood Development. I am a Qualified Clinical Supervisor to LCMHCA clinicians as well.

I have over 24 years of experience working with children and families through early childhood education, the school system and through therapy. I hold an appointed executive board member position on the Cabarrus County Early Childhood Task Force where we help to meet agendas for our county's children by advising the commissioners on ways to meet the state goals and guidelines in this area.

I am a parent of two children who are honors students, athletic, well rounded full of life and silly loud all the time. I have worked with many parents on addressing their own childhood traumas and how that impacts their children to break the trauma cycles. I love to learn! Other than learning I also enjoy staying active, running, weight lifting, hiking, camping, fishing, playing any sport with my kids or walking my two dogs, Stella Luna and Hiram Lodge. My family loves animals we also have a balled python named Pork Chop. I do relax as well when I am not managing the business side of Emerge, I love talking business and work well helping clients get excited about living their dreams while in counseling. I love to read, garden, and just drive old country roads listening to loud music with the windows down. My life is pretty full despite having had every personal challenge you can imagine thrown at me, I have had amazing therapists, mentors, friends, family, and colleagues, that helped me along the way, so I understand what its like to be in both positions. My degrees are expensive papers on the wall that helped give me the professional knowledge to understand and use my life challenges to help others, my real expertise comes from life itself. My life challenges are what inspire me to help families identify mental health challenges at an early age and find real tools to help my clients make lasting change just as I did. I am a true success story and helping others is my purpose and what really fulfills me.
