Couples ($25/session)

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in business from Appalachian State University, and am currently finishing up my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College. My professional journey began at a level 3 group home and wilderness camp for young boys aged 12-17, where I worked with my residents dealing with anger management, past traumas, dysfunctional family systems, and personal growth plans including goal setting, psychoeducation, and career counseling; I have over 750 hours of experience in this setting. I am excited to soon obtain my clinical licensure as a CMHC-A and begin practicing professionally.
I am passionate about learning and working with couples in couples counseling, specifically Gottman’s Couples counseling, a highly rigorous research-based program for working with couples which is also wonderfully pragmatic and intuitive to understand. I find the structure of the Gottman’s methods to provide a clear path forward for couples and counselors, and their practical and intuitive approach helps keep couples apprised as to what is going on in the counseling session. It is my goal to become certified in Gottman’s Couples Therapy and one day open my own private practice specializing in this area of couples counseling. I have a strong desire to provide competent, ethical, effective and deeply pragmatic counseling to couples in a structured manner, utilizing the best possible researched based methods for the greatest outcomes and results.

I am elated to be completing my internship at Emerge Child and Family Counseling, where I plan to continue to learn and develop as a couple’s counselor. My long-term goal is to one day open a private practice as a certified Gottman’s Couples Therapist.

I look forward to working and growing with you to help couples live healthy and harmonious lives.
